BACKGROUND

Jeannie Kim, President of Korean-American Chamber of Commerce, Las Vegas, Nevada is actively involved with the local and the National Korean business community as well as mainstream commerce community in USA. She also holds various positions such as Vice- President of National Korean-American Chamber of Commerce USA , and the Founder and Chairperson of Las Vegas International Trade Summit , LV ( ITS ) . She was appointed by the Governor Sandoval of a position of High Speed Train and transportation Commission for the State of Nevada in 2013 , the term ends in 2016.

Ms. Kim held senior executive managerial positions at the major Las Vegas hotels in the fields of sales & marketing, and food & beverage management with over twenty years of experience as an entrepreneur and business owner. She is currently the managing member of Las Vegas Global Business Consulting Group in Las Vegas and board member of International Trade and Investment Council ( ITIC ) which promote and represent small to medium companies of import , export businesses in Southern Nevada.

Her inspiration to start working with the Korean-American Chamber of Commerce came from her own experience as an entrepreneur.

Through her strong ties and associations with the greater Las Vegas Community and other chambers of commerce, Ms Kim was successful in her efforts to support the passage of the KORUS Free Trade Agreement, and received a South Korea President’s Award from President Lee Myung-Bak in 2012. Her efforts of reorganizing and repurposing the Korean-American Chamber of Commerce, Las Vegas was to assist and help stimulating dynamic growth in development of the International Chamber Businesses in Southern Nevada.

Ms. Kim is as close as native in Las Vegas for over 40 years of residence. She graduated from University of Nevada Las Vegas with a BS degree of Hotel Administration and had completion of Business management courses throughout. She completed Executive CEO Program and received a Distinguished Woman of the Year in 2014.

Kristopher Sanchez – ITS 2014 Co-Chair and Organizer

Director of International Trade Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development.

Kristopher Sanchez serves as Director of International Trade for the State of Nevada, Governor’s Office of Economic Development. Mr. Sanchez, who previously worked as a Congressional staffer in the United States House of Representatives, is currently responsible for managing GOED’s International Division and Governor Sandoval’s international trade agenda. Mr. Sanchez has successfully facilitated and conducted trade missions in China, South Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Israel, and Canada as well as an exploratory mission to Taiwan.

In addition to serving as the Division’s Director, Mr Sanchez is the Co-Chair of the Nevada International Trade and Investment Council, Co-chair of the Nevada-India Business Development Council, and a member of the Nevada District Export Council.

Mr. Sanchez’s Congressional experience covers a number of policy areas, such as: defense, homeland security, transportation, veteran’s affairs, forestry, fisheries, agriculture, and international relations. Mr. As a legislative assistant for Congressman Jon Porter in the 109th Congress, Mr. Sanchez worked closely with Congressional committee staff, policy experts, federal agencies, community organizations and Nevada state officials on a diverse range of issues and legislation affecting Nevada.

Mr. Sanchez holds master’s degrees in public administration and military history from Norwich University, a bachelor’s degree in political science from California State University, Stanislaus.

Additionally, he has completed course work on terrorism, international relations, and homeland security at the National Defense University’s Institute for National Security Studies at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Sanchez is a past fellow of the Leon and Sylvia Panetta Institute for Public Policy at California State University, Monterey Bay. As a Panetta Fellow, he received 80 hours of instruction on the executive and legislative branches of the U.S. government.

Mr. Sanchez and his wife, Nicole, an elementary school teacher, live in Henderson, Nevada, with their son, Trent.
